AML, KYC and ID checks for UK accountants, bookkeepers and tax advisers
Send your new client one link. They verify their ID, face and home address on their phone. We screen them for sanctions and PEPs, keep screening for 12 months, and give you the record your supervisor asks to see.
Five free sends to try it. No card, no subscription.

Most accountants tell us they pay about £2 a check. That is usually the price of one line on the invoice. These are the other lines, taken from a UK provider's published price list.
Bought a line at a time
One client£8.41
Plus a platform fee, commonly £8 to £13 a month before you check anybody.
TrueFortis
One client£4.99
No platform fee, no monthly minimum, no contract.
Prices exclude VAT and were checked in September 2026 against what providers publish. Providers that lead with a document and biometric check, rather than a database lookup, charge £10 to £15. Don't take our word for any of it: add up every line on your own invoice. Part of why we cost less is that our verification provider is not yet on the government's register of digital verification services, which the questions below explain.
£4.99 per person
Adding a company is free: you pay for each director or beneficial owner you check. You pay when the link is sent, not when your client finishes. No subscription, no setup fee, no contract. Prices exclude VAT.
Your records are held in London and kept for the five years regulation 40 asks for, then erased for you.
Start a checkPassport, photocard driving licence or national identity card, checked for forgery and matched to a live selfie.
Verified, because HMRC's guidance says the residential address must be verified too.
Screened against the UK Sanctions List, international lists and politically exposed person lists.
A PDF for the client file, and 12 months of screening that tells you the day their name appears on a list.
The client assessment regulation 28 asks for, and your practice's own firm wide one under regulation 18. Both download as a PDF for your supervisor.
What you will do for them and whether it is ongoing, recorded with the check because regulation 28(2)(c) asks you to understand why you act for them.

Type your client's name and email, and press send. If they are easier to reach on WhatsApp, send it there instead.
They open the link on their phone, photograph their ID and take a selfie. Nothing to download.
Open their name in TrueFortis, read the result and download the PDF.
Regulation 28(4) says you must identify and verify the people who own or control a company client. TrueFortis finds them for you.
We take the name, registered office and incorporation date straight from Companies House. Adding a company is free.
Current directors and persons with significant control, listed with their other appointments, so you know who you are dealing with.
Send each person their own link. The company shows as verified once they all are, with one record for the file.
The Money Laundering Regulations 2017 require you to identify and verify your client before you take them on (regulation 27), and to keep the evidence for five years after the business relationship ends (regulation 40).
A photocopied passport doesn't show that the person you are dealing with is the person in the photo, or that you checked the sanctions list on the day you took them on. A TrueFortis report does.
Useful whoever supervises you

Often a PEP or a possible sanctions match. Read the report, decide what enhanced due diligence is proportionate and record your decision.
Don't act for the client yet. Read the report to see why, and speak to your MLRO if something doesn't feel right.
A freelance designer in Leeds wants you to do their Self Assessment. They verify from home with their driving licence.
A landlord in Dubai needs help with UK rental income. They verify with their passport from wherever they are.
Screening shows they are a local councillor. You decide what extra checks are proportionate, such as asking about their source of wealth.
Stop and check the details. If it is a genuine match, speak to your MLRO and report it to OFSI at HM Treasury.
The inspector asks for identity evidence on a sample of clients. Open each client and download their report.
Copy their link from TrueFortis and send it yourself, or send a new link with one click.
It doesn't replace your judgement. TrueFortis gives you the evidence and the record; you decide whether to take the client on.
It doesn't check trusts or charities yet. It checks individuals and companies.
It isn't Companies House identity verification. Directors use GOV.UK One Login or an Authorised Corporate Service Provider.
It doesn't make suspicious activity reports. Those go to the National Crime Agency through your MLRO.
A smartphone with a camera, and their passport, photocard driving licence or national identity card. Passports and ID cards from most countries are accepted.
The link expires after a while. Open their name in TrueFortis and press Send a new link. A send is used when the link goes out rather than when your client finishes, so a new link uses another one.
Not yet. Our current verification provider, Didit, holds ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certification but is not on the UK government's register of digital verification services. HMRC's guidance, published in July 2026, says a provider not on that register "cannot reliably be deemed suitable" for identity verification under the Regulations. Until TrueFortis uses a registered provider, don't rely on it as your only evidence of identity.
Yes. Type the company number and we take the company's details, its directors and its persons with significant control from Companies House. Adding the company is free; you send each of those people their own check. The company shows as verified once they all are.
Documents and selfies are processed by Didit in the European Union. Reports are stored in London. See our privacy notice.
You are. TrueFortis gives you the tool and the record. Your firm stays responsible for its customer due diligence and for deciding whether to act.
